Museum, Aquarium, Beach - Vacation 2012

We are back from vacation, and I've been working on sorting through photos!  Here are a few of my favorites.

Note: There are a lot of pictures in this post!  You've been fairly warned.

Wyatt and I flew out last Tuesday, even though Derek couldn't come until Thursday - we figured it would be nice to have a little extra time to visit with Derek's brother and sister-in-law!  Wyatt loved playing with uncle Jeff, and the first day we were there we just hung around the house and relaxed, which was nice.

On Thursday we went to the Children's museum before heading to the airport to pick up Derek!  Wyatt loved it, and it was so cute to watch him explore everything.

There was a big chess board, and I had to take some pictures there since Derek is so good at chess (have I mentioned that before?  My hubby is so smart)!

Aunt Rae showed Wyatt the fish tank and the car-building area, and Wyatt loved it!

After that we went over to play with the toddler tools, which Wyatt thought was fun.

He was tired out by the end of the day and we went to pick Derek up at the airport!

The next day we went to the aquarium with Rae (Jeff had to work).

At first the big fish tanks kind of scared Wyatt, but once he realized we weren't going to make him go swimming he loved them!

He was absolutely fascinated by the otters.  When he first noticed them he pointed and said "dogs?".  We tried to teach him "otter", but I have to admit their faces kind of look like little dogs, so I understand the confusion!

He did say "turtle" several times on this trip though, and he enjoy watching them too!

After the aquarium we stopped by the beach, just to take a look at the ocean, even though we didn't stay.

We took a short walk down to the sand as well, and took a few more pictures.

And then we had to leave, which was sad.  I love the beach.

On the way back to Jeff and Rae's house we met up with Jeff at a Chili festival/cook-off!  I had never been to anything like that before, so it was fun.  I didn't bring the camera with me, but basically you pay 5 dollars for a card for either chili or chicken wings, and each card has an allowance for five different samples.  Then you go around to different contestants and try their chili or chicken wings, and then after you've tried them all you vote for your favorites.  It was chili verde night, so we got to try a bunch of yummy green chilis. It was fun!  I probably should have took a few pictures, but oh well.

Part Two of vacation pictures coming up tomorrow!

  1. Callie you are looking great!! Pregnancy agrees with you. And I can't believe how old Wyatt looks. Where did the baby go??

Looks like a beautiful trip. I may or may not be a little jealous. :)

  2. Wyatt's looks have changed so much! He looks more like a little boy than a baby. He's growing up too fast! Maybe it's a different haircut? That always seems to have a drastic impact on a child's looks. Vacation looked like a lot of fun!
