To Do

For the first three weeks of December I volunteered to work an extra day during the week. I'm really glad I can work that extra day, because last week during Black Friday as I was getting all my Christmas shopping done, it really hit me just how much Christmas costs. Last year we didn't have steady work, so people understood if we went more inexpensive on gifts. But this year we have the ability to spend a little more, so I have been - but that also means that all the extra money for November and December is disappearing rapidly. So working a little extra this month is going to be a big help.

However, I hope the next two weeks are a little smoother than this week! It was just one of those weeks where alot of things went wrong - my coworker's seemed to feel it too. But it's over now, and I've got the whole weekend ahead of me to get some things accomplished!

Because this week has been so crazy I haven't been able to do as much as I was planning on doing. Like those Christmas cards that were supposed to be mailed on Monday. Yup, they're still in my bag, but they're getting mailed today! So be checking your mailboxes next week.

Here's my list of things to accomplish today:

1. Blog. I've been neglecting my blogs! I'm updating the Christmas blog today too, so be sure to check it out.

2. Work out. I'm getting flabby - the winter time is really bad for that. But I'm determined to be in great shape by the time I can start wearing short sleeves, so I better get moving.

3. Mail Christmas cards.

4. Wrap a few presents. Under our bright and beautiful tree that we put up last weekend. With hot chocolate in hand, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band Christmas CD playing in the background. That will be lovely . . .

5. Call my office and the chiropracter (you know, those errand calls).

6. Keep the fire stoked.

7. Make something good for Derek for dinner (poor man, he hasn't had a really good dinner this week).

8. Maybe write a letter that has been in the works for a long time (don't ask how long).

9. Paint! I would love to paint today. I haven't had a chance to paint in a few months, and I'm frustrated with myself! Starting in January (because things will calm down by then) I'm going to paint weekly. Even if it's just a few strokes. I need to discipline myself.

10. Go to a movie with Derek tonight! Derek has been planning all week to take me to see Julie and Julia before it leaves the dollar theater, so we're going to go tonight. He's so sweet - he thought the movie was okay, but he knew I liked it, so he's going to tolerate it a second time so I can see it again!

And that's it! Maybe do a little relaxing somewhere in there too. Oh yes, and take a shower. But that's it, really . . .

Sounds like a good to-do list. :) I need to wash the dishes, tidy up, clean the bathrooms, mop the floors, wash the bed linens and towels, and vacuum... oh, and make taco salad for dinner. We'll see if all those things get done!

Aww, so sweet of your husband to take you to see that movie again :-)

Good luck and have fun tackling your to-do list! I have quite a long list of Christmas-related things to get done this weekend myself.
