Two Years Old

My little niece is turning two years old this May. She is absolutely adorable. I'm not going to post a picture, because I didn't ask her mom, so you'll just have to take my word for it.

She's such a little girly-girl, even at two years old. She loves all my earrings and necklaces that I wear when I see her - she just walks up with her eyes glued to the necklace and reaches out to finger it. She loves sparkly things.

Sometimes I think she just likes me to hold her so she can play with my necklaces, but hey, I'll take that! She's the sweetest little thing.

Anyway, they're having a little birthday party for her on Thursday, and I wasn't quite sure what to get her for a present. Two years old is such a hard age - most of the cool toys at the store say "3+" on them, and I wanted to get her something pretty.

So here's what I came up with:

A cute little Minnie Mouse Purse (I figured she'd want to copy her mama), and some little two-year-old-friendly sparkly bracelets. If she doesn't like them now, she'll like them six months from now, so I figured this would be a cute little present.

Have you ever bought a present for a two year old? This is my first time. What do you think? Did I do good?

I think you did a fabulous job. Two year old girls tend to loooove dress up stuff, even if it takes them a few months to appreciate it. My two year old niece has a whole box of dress up stuff--necklaces and rings and bracelets and princess dresses and fairy skirts and tiaras and all kinds of fun stuff. She loves it all!

And when we go shopping, she loves to carry a purse with her!

And she definitely does the same thing: when I'm wearing a necklace, she sees it and she's GLUED to it. Not quite as much as she used to (she'll be 3 in two months), but you can still see magic in her eyes!

Soooo fun! I love the gift and am sure your little girly-girl niece will too.

We bought our first auntie/uncle gifts this year for our four year old girly-girl niece. It's fun buying kids stuff!

My 2 year old niece has so many toys, so we bought her something that she can play with when she's older. I'm always seeing things that they would love to play with a few years from now.
