Getting Fatter

I have gained eight pounds since the beginning of the year.

Remember how I used to skip meals? And the fertility specialist told me I was underweight, and if I wanted to have children, gaining about 5% of my body weight (6 lbs.) would be a good thing?

Success! I knew I could do it if I put my mind to it.

I had an appointment about a month and a half ago with the same guy. Derek came with me, and he asked Derek if I had been eating, because overachievers sometimes exercise too much and skip meals.

He had me pegged.

But I was happy to report that I had not skipped a meal in a long time, and I had gained weight since my last visit. When I told him how much he looked quite pleased, and kept saying "Good, good," as he made a notation in my chart.

I am approaching a normal BMI! Hooray for me.

I can tell that I've gained weight. My jeans fit a little tighter than they used to, and I feel curvier. I'm not sure I'm entirely happy about that aspect of it. Derek likes it.

So what do you think - can you tell a difference?

Last year:

This year:

I think you can tell I've filled out some.

But it's not enough that people will start to think I'm pregnant when I'm not, right? Because I get a little worried that they look at me sideways sometimes, wondering.

As long as I can still fit into all my same clothes, I think I'll be okay.

P.S. Thank you for all the birthday wishes, everyone! They made me smile. I feel loved.

You look on the skinny side of healthy...if that makes sense. :P

And girl you TOTALLY don't look pregnant. It kind of makes me laugh that you think that, because you're still so stinkin' skinny.

Hooray for normal BMI! (almost)

You look great, Callie! You look healthy. Husbands are so encouraging about weight gain sometimes. My husband prefers my 8 extra pounds of baby weight to how I was pre-baby (but I'm still going to lose it!!).

Happy Late Birthday! So sorry I missed it! Well, you look exactly the same! Beautiful! :) I, on the other hand, have also put on about 8, maybe more, and it isn't pretty. haha!

Wow, I had forgotten that you were trying to gain weight! ME TOO! We should have been keeping each other accountable! Not that you needed it, 'cause you're doing so well! I've gained a few pounds and it's really exciting when a pair of jeans that was loose on me last year fits a little more snug this year... but yeah, just like you I get paranoid that people will look at me sideways and wonder if I'm pregnant. In reality, though, I'm still skinny--just more healthy and closer to a normal weight. Sure is hard to get over those psychological hurdles.

you definitely still look great! :) I think you have filled out some, but it looks natural and healthy. No worries on a baby bump...until it really IS a baby bump, that is :)

You look healthy and happy! Sadly, I can not say the same :(

Keep up the good work!

Wow, now I think you look great, Callie! I'm sure it doesn't feel right to you, but you look much healthier now. Fit and skinny :)
The other night we stopped on the FIT-TV channel to laugh at the yoga moves and I was like "Wow, those girls are so small, I wish I was that small." And my husband thought I was crazy. He thought they looked scary-skinny (I didn't think quite that skinny, but...) Anyways, hubbies do seem to like us to have a little meat on our bones - thank goodness!

Good job on the weight gain! By the way, I can't tell the difference between the two pictures. I just think you great! But of course, you'll be able to see and feel the difference more than anyone.

You are still teeny tiny and adorable.

Yay for a normal BMI! I'm almost there too. A work in progress for sure. :]

Oh Callie, you are definitely still gorgeous! I think you look healthier now, so kudos! You definitely don't look pregnant, and even if someone thought you did - so what? You're married, so it wouldn't be a bad thing for them to think that you were pregnant:) But, don't worry, you look healthy and still would look great even if you gained ten more pounds!
