An Extra Sleepy Person

Windy Poplars

Today I thought I'd join in on Kristin's Week of Confessions over at Windy Poplars. If you want to join in, head on over there and check out Kristin's blog.

We're discussing sleep confessions today, and I have a few.

1. I have a tendency to steal the covers and crowd my husband over to the edge of the bed. Yes, I hog the bed. Whew, glad I got that out of my system.

2. I get rather grumpy when I'm tired, and my hubby knows not to talk to me about finances or anything remotely stressful right before bedtime, because I just might have a breakdown. Life feels dismal and hard if I'm tired.

3. I need way more sleep than the average person. They say you should get about eight hours of sleep per night - I scoff every time I hear that number. If I want to be fully rested, I need at least ten hours of sleep, my friends. Preferably twelve. I have been known to sleep a full nine or ten hour night, and still take a nap the next day.

4. My bed-time is 9:00 PM. I sometimes get made fun of for going to bed so early.

There! Now you know everything. You all still love me, right?

By the way, Lindsey at Le Dolce Vita is having a great giveaway, so you should all check it out!

I also need an insane amount of sleep. And I too go to bed at 9pm.

Haha! You're too cute. It's ok, I'm a big sleeper too! My hubby teases me all the time. My friend and I say that we are "competitive nappers." That's our sport ;)

I don't need quite as much as you, but 8-10 hours a night is my comfort zonee!

haha I love taking naps! Although, I find myself trapped in a terrible cycle. I accidentally stay up way too late, feel super tired so I take a nap the next day, and then I am not tired at my regular bed time, so I stay up way too late...
ha it's awful!

I totally hear ya on number 1. I cant share a bed with anyone, as I just take covers etc....must be the most annoying sleeper.

I'm glade to hear someone else also needs an insane amount of sleep to feel rested! It seems like everyone I know can get by on 5-7 hours of sleep...but I seriously need at least 9-10, or more to feel good when I wake up.

BTW...do you take a multivitamin, or prenatal vitamin (the latter is easier on the stomach)? I've started doing that religiously and feel A LOT better energy-wise.

haha, too funny, I posted about this too! I am going to have to go look at this week of confessions thing!

I need at least 9-10 hours for my brain to function, 10-12 is preferable if I want to actually have energy though, boy will I be in trouble with kids. Hubs and I have decided the best way to deal is to have me get up with the kids up until 12-1am and then have him get up after that. My problem is my most alert and wakeful time is in the evening, when I should be going to bed! Meanwhile hubs powers down around 8:30/9, haha we're total opposites of each other!

I need about 9 or 10 hours a night too! But very rarely do I get that much during the school year :-/

I get really grumpy too if I don't get enough sleep, and we can't talk about any stressful things before bed because it will just ruin my whole night and I won't sleep...

My husband is the exact same way! Although he doesn't hog the bed or covers. But he's Mr. Grumpypants when he's tired, and he needs 9 or 10 hours a night. Where as I can get by just fine on 6 or 7.

And both of us go to bed pretty early too.

Hello! Yes, I'm of the race that needs 9hours+ to be at my best. I wish I could be as disciplined as you are to get to sleep early. My brain (and creativity) come alive at night - I'm definitely a night owl :-). Sorry the linky wasn't working yesterday morning for whatever reason - I went ahead and linked you up to the party though, so you're all set! Hope you have a fabulous day. I enjoyed reading your confessions, and hope you'll join us again!

My husband is just like that... he needs more sleep than the average person to function!

This was fun to read.
