Men's Basketball Shorts

I've never understood why some girls wear men's basketball shorts.

You know, the long ones that reach past their knees? They reach that far on girls mostly because the waistband and crotch of the shorts are no where near where they should be.

Obviously, I've never tried a pair on, so I guess I was passing judgement before I actually experienced the baggy men's shorts. They might be really comfortable.

Well, yesterday after an unfortunate incident in which my pajama pants were soiled and needed to be thrown in the wash, I gave in.

I was upset because I had no pajama pants to wear, and so Derek gave me a pair of his shorts. And I put them on.

And I still don't understand.

Not only were they not very comfy (pants that don't fit properly do not qualify as "comfortable" in my book), but they made me feel like a boy.

I told Derek so as soon as I put them on. He replied that I in no way looked like a boy, and if I did, I had the prettiest legs a boy ever had. Right answer! Thanks, Babe.

I must admit, they were nicer to sleep in than they were to sit and stand in, but it still doesn't justify them to me. I'll stick with my good 'ole feminine lounge pants, thank you.

P.S. Maybe if you're one of those girls who is a fan of wearing men's shorts, you can explain it to me better?

I love me some lounge pants! Hubby bought me a couple pairs at Victoria's Secret last year and I wear them alllll the time!

I think they are more comfortable, but I do buy a boys size, so maybe they're not as baggy... I'm 5'6 and thin.
I grew up playing basketball, so I'm used to them. I think it just depends on the girl.

Hahaha! This post made me laugh. I'm a wearer of men's gym shorts! :D Actually, I shop in the boy's section and get the extra large. They fit me better. The men's are way too huge. I wear them around the house in the summer, sleep in them, and wear them for working out or exercising. And I love them. Girls gym shorts are just too short. And they never fit me right. I always look ridiculous in them. Plus, the boy ones have pockets...which I love. And they actually fit me pretty well! Maybe you'd have to try the boys ones to understand? I've worn Corey's before, and they're just too huge. So I can understand that point. I just think they're an extremely comfy alternative to yoga pants if it's too hot for pants.

I wear them because I'm pretty tall and I can't find girls athletic shorts that look modest. They make girls shorts so short.

ok, so I was looking back at your belly updates...I'm nearly 19 weeks and am comforted by the fact that you look to be on the smaller side at 19 weeks as well. I have a lot of pressure but I just feel like I'm not getting bigger! Most people probably can't even tell I'm pregnant!

I've never worn them either...I'm always cold, so I like my clothes to be a little more snug than that. Lately I've been coming home from work and heading straight to my bedroom to change into some lounge pants or pajama pants...I can't imagine anything more comfortable :-)

I agree, they do look very manly on a girl. And they don't look very comfortable either. I really like the soft winter fleece pj pants this time of year :-)

Well I have to say that I love wearing boys basketball shorts or boxers. I think it's because I am pretty self-consious and I feel really fat when I wear anything tight or short so when things are baggy I feel better. I like feeling girly but most of girls pjs make me feel uncomfortable and big. When it comes to lounge pants though, I totally love girls ones.
