Read Anything Good Lately?

I just finished Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

It was a good book - I can see why so many girls have recommended it to me! I enjoyed it.

But now I'm in need of a new book. I have pretty wide reading tastes - I like mysteries, historical fiction, suspense, Christian romance and chick-lit, classics (and of course non-fiction too, but I'm just referring to fiction at the moment). It just depends on what I'm in the mood for.

I'm not entirely sure what I'm in the mood for right now though. I think I'd like a light read, just as a change of pace, but I don't really have any possibilities in my possession at the moment. I think a trip to the library is in order.

Does anyone have any suggestions? What are you all reading these days?

Have you read anything by Francine Rivers?? She is my favorite Christian author. My favorite book of all time is her book Redeeming Love. It is an adaptation of the story of Hosea. But she also has many many other books that are wonderful as well.

Some of my all-time favorite (fiction) books are the O'Malley series by Dee Henderson. I've read those so many times! A little suspense, a litle love, and a lot of family.

Have fun with the book hunt!

I've been hooked on the books by Emily Giffin. I've written about them on my blog, but I recommend starting with Something Borrowed. The movie is coming out in May, but this is an excellent read... a little scandalous, but a good story.

I'm reading Water for Elephants and I'm really enjoying it! I've also read Heaven is for Real (amazing and thought-provoking) and Pioneer Woman's book (Black Heels & Tractor Wheels). I love to read all kinds of books and these were both very entertaining, quick, easy reads!

I was just going to suggest the Francine Rivers type of thing. I personally prefer non-fiction, but Christian women keep telling me to read those books.

Two Trees
End of All Flesh
The Tower

I've never read Jane Eyre though my mom has been raving about it to me lately! One day....

I agree with Anne, the O'Malley series by Dee Henderson is WONDERFUL- especially the prequel, Danger in the Shadows.

I'm reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens right now, but it is definitely NOT light!

I agree with Redeeming Love and Water for Elephants. They both are amazing books. My favorite book in the whole world is East of Eden by John Steinbeck!!!

It's been awhile since I picked anything up. I've always enjoyed christian chick lit but have been really needing to branch out to new authors and series. I hope you'll post what you pick!

I have just finished the first two books of Sarah Sundin's series Wings of Glory and am waiting for the third one. They are Christian, historical fiction about World War 2, once you pick them up - you will not be able to stop reading! :)

I have to agree with Kayla, I read Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers over my Spring Break and it was fantastic.

I'll be blogging about an idea it inspired later today. I also taught a lesson to my 1st graders based on it - The God Box.

Worth a read!
