Wyatt's Nursery - Blue, Green, Brown, And Airplanes!

Our baby boy's nursery!

I decided to go with gray-blue, light green, and brown for the colors, and we're aiming for an airplane theme.

I'm thinking of getting a couple wooden planes to hang in the corner, but I'm not sure I've found the perfect thing yet. We'll see how that pans out. But since I've had a chance to hang the decorations we made, everything else is complete!

Here are some of the details:

That cute little piggy bank was made by my sister-in-law! She's amazing at pottery. I broke his left ear off though, so we're trying to piece it back together. I think my sister-in-law will send us a new one eventually - yes, I did have an emotional breakdown when I broke it. It was one of those days.

I made the baby bedding myself, because I just couldn't find anything that I loved that wasn't really expensive - I liked being able to pick my own colors and fabrics! My old neighbor also offered to do the professional quilting part with this big quilting machine she has - I really like the way it turned out! I also made the valance and crib skirt to match.

I got those little wall decals and the wooden airplane to go with our theme, and I found a few woven baskets to store blankets and things. The little baby sign is something Derek bought for me right after we found out I was pregnant, so it's special to me too.

These are views of the room from the door, right to left:

Derek refinished the dresser and both the rocking chairs to match the crib. He also painted the changing table so it would match the rest of the room (it was too varnished and detailed to strip and re-stain, so we decided to paint it instead). I love the way everything turned out! It feels like all the furniture is a matching set, even though we received each piece separately for free or at a very inexpensive price, and none of them were even close to matching when we started. I love that I have such a handy husband who can do this stuff for me!

And I tried to take a few panoramic pictures, but I'm afraid this is as big as they get when I upload them - but just to give you a better idea.

Other than the airplanes I still want to get, the nursery is finished! I'm quite satisfied with the way it turned out. I just love going in there, breathing in the woodsy and baby smells, and snuggling with my sweet Wyatt! It's definitely one of my favorite rooms in the house now.

I love it, Callie! You did a great job with it! I love that it's so sweet and perfect for a baby, but will also easily transition into a toddler/"big boy" room later. Thanks for sharing pictures!

I've always thought about doing airplanes so I loved this! I really like the molding and the two color walls. And I can't believe you made the bedding! I'm so impressed! Baby bedding is crazy expensive.
