Freaky People

Do you ever run into someone who just freaks you out?

Apparently someone came into the office this week and was acting really weird, like he was casing the place. Now all the girls are a little freaked out - worried that he may come back and hold us hostage or something.

I intend to buy some pepper spray, keep my phone and the spray on me at all times, and make sure we walk out to our cars in a group, especially after dark.

Any other self-defense tips? Prayers for the Lord to put His hand of protection over us and our place of work are appreciated.

Creepy indeed! My Hubby grew up with a father who worked in federal prisons. He's very, very keen and aware of our surroundings. Very sensitive to "freaky people" on the prowl. Seems like he's always thinking like a detective. Which, I totally don't get, but at the same time I'm thankful he's aware. Will pray you have peace! I'm sure all will be okay, some folks are just plain strange...

We live in a rough neighborhood. By "rough" I mean...there have been two shootings in our alley in the past month, numerous drug deals take place on the corner, and we actually have cops that patrol the area as "community liaison officers" (aka our neighborhood watch) to keep things under control. So I encounter a lot of freaky people. At least one a week. I've learned some things about fear since living and working in this city...

1. Remember that God is always on your side, and His protection is the best kind
2. The freaky people really need Jesus, so pray for them when they freak you out
3. Sometimes people come off as freaky but really have other things going on (did I mention the county jail is 3 blocks away?). Sometimes they don't MEAN to freak you out, but it happens because they're mind isn't all there (i.e. drugs, just got out of jail, bad family situation, etc).
4. Be careful. Don't flaunt fancy items (iPod, iPhone, wallet, cash, etc). And avoid eye contact.
5. Keep pepper spray in your purse and bear mace in your car.

I'll say a prayer for you!

That is freaky - I totally know what you mean. Hopefully it was just a strange person, I mean why would someone case a dentist's office?
