32/52 - Mom And Me and FMKC LinkUp

The theme for this week's linkup is Mom and Me!  So basically any posts with pictures of you and your kiddos will qualify.  I decided to cheat a little and use these pictures for my Project 52 pictures for the week and for the From My Kid's Closet linkup!  Clever of me, no?

I haven't had any good pictures taken with me and the kiddos in a while, so I had Derek take some new ones on Sunday!

Wyatt

Shirt: Target

Pants: I want to say Kohl's.

Shoes: Gift from my mom.  I like them because they look like Converse, but I think she got them from Walmart, which is a-okay with me!  No way I would pay full price for real Converse shoes when Wyatt will outgrow them in a couple months.

Hat:  Gymboree.  Wyatt loves wearing his hat lately, I think because it looks just like the hats his dad wears!

Gwen

Dress and Bloomers: Children's Place on clearance last year!  I found out we were having a girl and I wanted to get something for her.

Bow: Target.

And we went sans shoes because I didn't have any that matched.  Shoes is on the list of things to buy for Gwen's fall wardrobe.

Me

Dress: Target.  I bought this maxi dress at the beginning of the summer, because I loved that it had sleeves, and the top part is loose enough that it's nursing friendly!

Shoes (that you can't see): I didn't get a picture of the shoes.  But they were neon coral sandals, and they cost me $8 at Forever 21!  I think that's pretty good for shoes.

Earrings (that you can barely see): Tiny little spikes from Forever 21.

Wow, and would you believe it that Wyatt's outfit was the most complicated this week?  That's what happens when Gwen and I wear dresses, I guess.  Nice and simple!

Okay, go ahead and review the guidelines here and link up your posts below!

Also, a quick announcement - both Allison's and my schedules for the fall are looking pretty crazy, so we decided to put the linkup on hold for now.  It will most likely be back in a few months.  Thanks to everyone who has participated so far, and be sure to follow Allison's blog for future news about the linkup (and you should follow her anyway, because her blog is amazing)!

Outfits For Less Than $25

Welcome back for another week of From My Kid's Closet!  The theme this week is "Under $25 Dollars", meaning the whole outfit total has to come to under $25.

For my personal interpretation of the theme, I figured counting gift items as costing me zero dollars would be kind of cheating, so I put together outfits that actually would cost less than $25 if I bought them myself.  Here we go:

Incidentally, Wyatt and Gwen's less-than-25-bucks outfits also coordinated!  I actually did not plan this, but it worked out nicely, right?

Wyatt's Outfit:

Shirt - Four bucks on clearance at Target.

Shorts - Four bucks at the thrift store (score!).

Shoes - Sixteen bucks at Target.  The most expensive part of his outfit.  Trust me, if I could have gotten Wyatt sturdy sandals for cheaper, I would have.

Train - Not part of the outfit, so it doesn't count, but it just appeared in my house one day . . . I suspect Wyatt may have accidentally smuggled it out of Sunday School, because I've been finding things in his pockets lately.  But I can't be certain.

Total: $24

Gwen's Outfit:

Shirt and bloomer outfit - I actually did not buy this myself, but I've seen very similar outfits at Target, so I'm guessing it cost around $15.

Barefoot sandals (which elicit "oohs and aahs" from all ladies in our general vicinity wherever we go) - Five dollars from this Etsy seller.  I got them on sale.

Headband - Three dollars from this Etsy seller.  They have a ton of colors too.

Total: $23

Pretty cute, right?  I'm sure you could do kids' outfits for cheaper than this if you tried, but I was pretty happy with what I came up with!

I'm separating out my post from the link-up post this week, so scroll up to the most recent post to link up!

Patriotic Outfits

Time for another round of From My Kid's Closet!  This week the theme is the 4th of July, so be sure to link up all your Independence Day posts and show off your kids' patriotic outfits!

Here are my little American babies.

Wyatt's Outfit

Shirt - Children's Place.

Shorts - Walmart.

Shoes - Target.  I wanted to put him in his flip flops, but I searched my whole house and couldn't find them!  So it's the same shoes.  He'll probably be wearing those the rest of the summer.

Gwen's Outfit

Shirt and Bloomers - Walmart.  I tell you, Walmart had great patriotic stuff this year.

Bow headband - Ruby and Sue.  I want to order more - they have way too many cute bows!

Shoes - Target, on clearance!

I kind of mush-mashed their outfits together from a bunch of different places, but I think they turned out so cute!  I love patriotic kid's clothes.  You just can't go wrong.

Summertime Outfits

Welcome to the first week of the From My Kid's Closet linkup!

The theme this week is "Summer"!  I picked these two outfits because what says "summer" better than little boy muscle tanks and baby girl rompers?

Can I just say it's really hard to get any good pictures of Wyatt right now?  Especially when I'm trying to get a full-length clothes shot.  The kid just doesn't stop moving . . .

I got Wyatt's shirt from Children's Place (I think), the shorts from Crazy 8, the shoes from Target (size 8 - his feet are getting so big!).  I love the orange shorts.  They just scream "summer" to me, and I can mix and match most of his shirts with them.  Little boys clothes can be pretty fun too, especially the mix and matchable items.

I got Gwen's romper from Children's Place, and her headband and sandals from Target.  When I bought the sandals I was debating between the colored sandals or the silver ones, and I'm so glad I got the colored ones!  They are so bright and summer-timey, and they go with almost everything she has.  If you're going for sandals, you might as well go obviously summery, don't you think?  That's my philosophy.

From My Kid's Closet - New Link-Up!

Note: I apologize if the FMKC link-ups from the last few weeks are showing up for a second time in anyone's readers, I had to adjust a few things in the past link-up posts.  That sometimes causes them to show up again!

Is it just me, or is almost more fun to dress kids than it is to dress ourselves? It's not just me, right? Sure, it might take a little searching to find kids' clothes that are just right, but when you do they are so cute! I honestly think I could put anything on my kiddos and they'd look pretty much adorable, but I'm a little biased . . .

I'm excited to announce that for the rest of the summer I'll be co-hosting a bi-weekly kids' style link-up with my friend Allison, from Sweatpants and High Heels!

Allison is an amazing Christian mama, has done work as a model, and has two adorable little girls, and I was honored when she asked if I wanted to co-host a kids' style link-up with her. Here are the details:

1. Every other week we'll have a different outfit/style theme, so just post something related to kids' clothes within the theme. You can post pictures of your kid(s) in a related outfit (we are including all ages from infant to age 12), or post pictures of items you like for kiddos from your favorite stores. Even if you don't have a child just yet, browse through some baby clothes online and join in! Kids' clothes vary just as much as adult clothes do, so I'm excited to see everyone's style.

2. We'll be hosting the link-up bi-weekly, and we will announce the theme ahead of time so you have a week or two to snap some pictures or search out some cute clothes that fit the theme!

3. Please follow Allison and me
, either through GFC, Bloglovin, or on Twitter.

4. Please link back to either Allison or me in your post, or grab the link-up button for your post or sidebar!

5.  If you want to participate on Twitter or Instagram, just include the hashtag #frommykidscloset

6. Keep post content G-rated. This is a kids' style link-up. We will remove any links that we deem inappropriate. Knowing you all, I doubt this will be a problem, but we have to say it!

I'm excited about this link-up - I'm excited to see everyone's styles and find some new places to shop for my own kids!

The theme for the first week is:

Summer

Pick out your favorite summer outfit from your kid's closet and come show it off next week!
